Adell was born in Sandersonville, Georgia on December 5, 1946. She graduated Charles M. Hall School in Alcoa, TN after which she served two years in the Army. Returning home in 1970, she began work at Levi Strauss and worked there until its closing in 1997.
Preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Alma Curry; brother, Samuel Curry, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Nells Moss and Doris Curry; father-in-law, Reverend Arthur C. Dixson, Sr.
Survived by loving husband, Charles Alvin Dixson; sons, Emanuel C. Dixson, Sr. and Derrick Jordan; grandchildren, Breauna and Emanuel Dixson, Jr. great grandson, Robert Cameron; siblings, Mary Gilmore (Tyris, Sr.), Gene Curry (Theresa) and Denny Curry (Lorie); beloved mother-in-law, Ida Mae Dixson; in-laws, Arthur Charles Dixson, Jr. (Carrie), Arthur Davis, Pastor Hugh W. Dixson (Priscilla), Glorious Brooks, Cynthia Anthony (Tony), Tina Bryant, Viola Johnson, (Stanley), Ruth Leverett (Mark); a host of nieces and nephews. A special thank you to friend, Donna Rucker.
Friday, November 2, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow at St. Peter Primitive Baptist Church, 140 E. Howe Street, Alcoa, TN. Elder Leander Blackmon, Officiant and Pastor Hugh W. Dixson, Eulogist. Interment will immediately follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, 2500 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN, where a white dove release will conclude the service.
