Alida Dawn Durham, 47, was born May 2, 1971. She went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018 at her home on her birthday after a brief illness.
She was a member of the Holston High Class of 1989. Alida was a devoted employee of Stop-N-Go Market where she worked closely with the owners, sister, Pilar and brother-in-law, John Davis. She was a kind-hearted and jovial person who loved to cook and sing. Alida was a former member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church; however, most recently began attending Children of God Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred Durham and brother, Barry Durham.
Left to cherish her memory: sisters, Pilar (John) Davis and Janna (Terry) McDaniel; brothers, Jerrell (Alysia) and Brian (Tiffany) Slay; a host of other family and friends too numerous to name.
Wednesday, May 9, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Homegoing Celebration to follow at Children of God Ministries at 309 Deaderick Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921. Superintendent Phillip Hamilton, Sr. Pastor and Eulogist and Elder Eric Satterfield, Officiant. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens where a white dove release will conclude the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the service.
