Annie Ruth Scott Pearson, age 92, was called home by her Heavenly Father on September 19, 2018. She was born December 7, 1925 to the union of Martha Lowery Hinton and Simon Hinton in Moundsville, WV. As an only child, she was raised in West Virginia and Kentucky. Annie was introduced to Christ at an early age and later moved to Knoxville becoming a devoted and faithful member of Bethel AME Church.
Preceded in death by husbands, Franklin O. Scott and Thomas Pearson, Sr.; stepdaughter, Mildred Williams and parents.
Left to cherish her memory: sons, Daniel (Naomi) Hinton, Sr., Timothy, Franklin Gregory and Kurt Scott, all of Knoxville; Arvin (Virginia) of GA; Jerry (Melanie) of IN; stepchildren, Thomas, Jr. of Nashville and Joe Pearson and Joyce Blackwell of VA; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; a host of other family and friends to include Marilyn Williams, Rodney ("Phee") Wilson and family, Jimmy (Martina) Felton and the Bethel AME Church family. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, the family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a Homegoing Celebration to follow at Bethel AME Church, 2460 Parkview Avenue. Reverend Lee Russell Brown Jr. officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. at New Gray Cemetery where a white dove release will conclude the service.
