Claudean McLeroy Patterson Harris was born January 8, 1946 and departed this life on January 8, 2018. She attended Cansler, Beardsley Jr. High and Austin High School, where she graduated in 1964. She worked at Levi Strauss for 24 years, P. Paper Company, A.L. Williams and retired from Rohm and Haas in 2008. At the time of her passing, she was an employee for Knox County. She loved fishing, gospel music, walking and bike riding. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a faithful member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by mother, Edna M. McLeroy; sister, Barbara Jean McCleary and grandparents, Willie B. and Helen Scott.
Survived by: daughter, Ivana Patterson; grandsons, DeVonte’ and Enrique Porter; sisters, Dollie (Kirk) Griffin and Christine McLeroy; brother, Ronald McLeroy; uncles, Willie Scott Junior and Donald McLeroy of Cleveland, OH; devoted friends, Jewel Cason and William Woodruff; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Wednesday, January 17, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow at New Friendship Baptist Church, 1933 Texas Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921. Reverend Dr. Joseph B. Smith, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial (Sutherland Avenue entrance) where a white dove release will conclude the service.
