David Lawrence Jackson

David L. Jackson, Sr., age 66, departed this life on Friday, September 7, 2018.  He was a graduate of Austin East High School, Class of 1970 and later joined and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp.  

Preceded in death by his son, Dewayne Jackson; parents, Nathaniel Sr. and Mabel Jackson; siblings, Ruby Garrett and Charles Jackson and longtime companion, Zena Goins.

Survived by: children, Regina Bailey, David, Jr. (Patience) Jackson and Elliot Rogers of New Jersey; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Samuel, Sr., George (Karen) and Walter Lee Jackson; sisters, Audrey West and Annie Mae Jackson; a host of other family and friends too numerous to name.  A special thank you to Avalon Hospice.  

Thursday, September 13, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2137 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37915.  Pastor Christopher R. Battle, Senior Pastor and Reverend Sanford Miller, Sr. Eulogist.  Interment will immediately follow at East TN Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier Highway) where military honors and white dove release will conclude the service.  Professional arrangements entrusted to Patton Funeral Home, Brian L.
