Flora Irene Gaines

Flora Irene Rogers Gaines, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 at UT Medical Center. Flora was a graduate of Austin High School class of 1950. She was a Nurse at UT Medical Center where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. 

Preceded in death by husband, Charles Gaines and parents, Kathrine Henry Cates and Cornelius Rogers.

Left to cherish her memory: devoted daughter, Denise Jones; stepchildren, Barbara Gaines, Renee Monger and Dennis Gaines; grandchildren, Robert Bridwell and April Jones; great grandchildren, Robert Elijah, Reigny, Jaden, and Cailyn; sister, Fern Porter; a host of other family and friends to include devoted friend Betty Wolfenbarger. 

Friday, November 16, 2018, the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with service to follow at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1601 Dandridge Avenue. Reverend Jesse Williams will officiate and Reverend Matthew Machen as the Eulogist. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial, Sutherland Avenue, where a white dove release will conclude the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the service.
