Henry Lee Moore

November 16, 1942 ~ January 6, 2018 (age 75)

Henry Lee Moore, went to be with the Lord January 6, 2018. He was born on November 16,1942 in Huntsville, Alabama to Lucille Boyd Moore and Reverend Douglas Moore. Henry was known in the community as “Red” who always loved to help everybody.  He enjoyed repairing and racing cars, playing the piano, singing and listening to the Blues.  He worked at Linden Elementary School for many years and Ralph Rodger. 

Preceded in death by mother, Lucille Boyd Moore; father, Reverend Douglas Moore, Sr.; brothers: Douglas Moore, Jr., James Moore and Thurman Moore; sisters: Beulah Mae Carter, Mary Marks, Pearl Leslie, and Thelma Jean Martin. 

Left to mourn his passing; daughters: Victoria Ann Smith, Jacqueline Ann Griffin of Decatur, AL, Apostle Veronica Ann (Ronnie) Johnson of Las Vegas, NV and Marvel Lynett Carpenter of Oak Ridge, TN; son, Javon Ray of Herman, TN; sisters: Rosa Lee Moore of Decatur, Dora Ann Boyd and Louise Cawthrone of Hunstville, AL; devoted step-sons: Tyrone Carpenter and Eugene (Debra) Carpenter; A devoted granddaughter, Adara Carpenter; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; devoted companion, Katherine “Kitty” Carpenter; loving and special friend, Lisa Guinn. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to name.  

Saturday, January 20, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow at True Light Missionary Baptist Church at 3229 George Light Road, Knoxville, TN 37931. Elder Darris W. Waters, Eulogist.  Interment to follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park where a white dove release will conclude the service.  Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the service.  Professional arrangements entrusted to Patton Funeral Home, Brian L.
