James Rice Obituary

James T. Rice, age 92, departed this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Rice; daughters, Michelle Rice Upton, Almeda Murphy and Catherine Buley and son, Bryan Cowley.

Left to celebrate his life and legacy are daughters, Charlotte Rice, Kathy (Frank) Rice-Fullenwider of Spartanburg, SC, Deborah Rockmore, Denise Rice, Karen (Chuck) Rice Dragg, Yvette Rice, Shelly (Royce) Davis; son, James R. (Stephanie) Rice; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Saturday, November 24, 2018, the family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Homegoing Celebration to follow at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1912 East Fifth Avenue. Elder James Rick Rice officiating. Interment will immediately follow at New Gray Cemetery where a white dove release will conclude the service.
