John Robert McAllister (J.R)  was born on May 14,1953 in Knoxville,TN to Charlie and Gladys McAllister. He was called home by his heavenly Father on March 14,2018. US Army Veteran. Retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and Merita Bakery. He was preceded in death by his Father, Charlie McAllister ; Mother, Gladys McAllister; Sister, Mary McAllister; Brother, Willie McAllister; Daughter-in-law, Kim McAllister; and Grandson, Maurice McAllister, Jr.

He will be remembered by his devoted wife Sharon Cofer McAllister; Son, Maurice (Alecia) McAllister; Daughters,Selena King and Melanie Kai McAllister; Grandchildren; Jasmine, Sydnei, Asjha, Emani, Jamyia, Keilah, Kaela, Wylea, Melody, Kailei, Kaci, Madison, Ava, and Tyger; Nieces, Keisha, Kim and Muriel; Nephews, Derrick, Dominique, Kevin, Anthony Barnhill and Broderick; Cousin, Stanley (Rochelle) Cash, Rev. Charles Edward( Belinda) Dickey; Mother-in-Law, Darling Cofer; Sister-in-laws,Norma Jean Barnhill ,Cordelia Cofer, and Cherly McAllister; Brother-in-laws, Jimmy Barnhill, Joe and James Cofer and a host of other friends and relatives to numerous to name. Family will recieve friends Tuesday March 20, 2018 from 11.00am till 12.00pm at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church 520 College St. Rev. Dr. Michel S E Caldwell Pastor. Rev Charles Edward Dickey Eulogist. Interment to follow at East TN State Veterans Cemetery. Gov John Sevier Hwy with military honors. Service to conclude with dove release. Flowers may be delivered to the church tuesday morning.
