John Lewis Moore

John Lewis Moore, age 70, passed away peacefully Monday morning at UT Hospital.  He was a faithful member of Sentertown Missionary Baptist Church, sang in the church choir and he was a devoted volunteer for The Fish Hospitality Pantry.  He was a member of the Austin High School graduating class of 1965. John retired from Norfolk Southern Railway as a Locomotive Engineer after 37 years of service and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran.   
 
He was preceded in death by parents, Rev. Johnnie and Eliza Moore; mother, Betsey Moore; sisters Gloria Jean Tate and Susie Ann Moore.  
 
Survived by devoted wife Linda; children Katrina (Patrick) Callaway, Alysia Seals both of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Ashley of Atlanta, GA and Patrick of Nashville, TN; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Ashton of Atlanta, GA; brothers: Steven (Veronica) Moore, Paul (Larretha) Moore, Anthony (Carolyn) Moore; sisters: Lynda (Rev. Robert) Henry, Patricia Moore all of Knoxville, TN and Saundra Moore of Atlanta, GA.  
 
Tuesday, January 16, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with funeral to follow atSentertown Missionary Baptist Church, 7149 Millertown Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924.  Reverend Dr. Keith Elliott officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at East TN Veterans Cemetery, 2200 Gov. John Sevier Highway, where military honors and a white dove release will conclude the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Fish Hospitality Pantry, 122 W.
