John Payne

John Payne departed this life on October 18, 2018 at Physicians Regional Medical Center.  He was born December 19, 1960 to James Harris and Mary Elma Payne in Aberdeen, MS.  John was a huge Alabama football fan who enjoyed fishing and hosting “Roll Tide” parties for family and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Hall Payne; grandson, Tazion Blair; parents; sister, Mary Payne and cousin, Timothy Payne.

Survived by children: Dominque, Jawan (Jessica Darby) and Jonathan Payne and Patrice (Reggie, Sr.) Smith; grandchildren: TaMysja, Tiras, Micah, Reggie, Jr., TaDarrius and J’Anna; brothers, James “Sonny” (Almazine), "Rufus “Pike” (Ella Joe) and Roosevelt Williams, Annie Mae Barnes, “Slick,” Bobby “Buckeye”, Shirley, David, Jimmy (Sherry), Earnest and Lee “Polk” Payne; special friend, Regina Davis; a host of other family and friends to include Carl, Jerry, Louis, Mr. and Mrs. Goss. 

Thursday, October 25, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church, 520 College Street.  Reverend Dr. Michel S.E. Caldwell, Pastor and Reverend Steve A. Simpson, Eulogist.  Interment will immediately follow at New Gray Cemetery where a white dove release will conclude the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the service.  Professional arrangements entrusted to Patton Funeral Home, Brian L.
