Kathy Lajuan Campbell, age 63, of Knoxville, Tennessee, departed this life on February 25, 2019 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She grew up in Mechanicsville and was a graduate of West High School, Class of 1973. Kathy had a flair for fashion which led to some modeling gigs. Of course, she loved fashion, traveling but her greatest loves were caring for children and singing. Some of her most joyous times were vacationing with family and singing in The Soul Liberations Band. Kathy was a member of Praise Temple Holiness Church.
Preceded in death by her devoted husband, Samuel Campbell; mother, Edna Bailey; brother, Wayne Golightly; sister, Patrice Bailey and grandmother, Katie Bailey.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Shaud Broyles (Toksy); daughter, Sierra Campbell (Martel); loving grandchildren; brother, Geno Bailey; sister, Kimberlyn Bailey; devoted niece, Asia Dorsey; devoted nephew, Cuben LaGrone; a host of other family and friends to include special friends, Jackie Blair, Pauline Cowan, Mary Mason, Daryl Dobbins and The Soul Liberations Band.
Tuesday, March 5, 2019, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church, 520 College Street, Knoxville, TN. Reverend Dr. Michel S.E. Caldwell, Pastor and Minister Anthony Rodgers, Eulogist. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa, TN where a white dove release will conclude the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the service.
