Lola Mae Henry departed this life April 30, 2018 at UT Medical Center. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, Alcoa. After 36 years of dedicated service, she retired from the 134th Refueling Wing of the Tennessee Air National Guard.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Henry; parents, William Ellis and Theodosia Johnson Riggins; brothers, Herbert, Livingston, Tyler, W.H. and Alvin Riggins and sister, Stattie Riggins Thomason.
Survived by loving daughter, Mary (Harold) Chandler; devoted grandson, Gene (Jeannie) Parks; devoted granddaughter, Brenda (James) Chambers; special nieces and nephew, Sadie Hale of Detroit, MI, Cynthia Sims and Dr. Lee Shefton Riggins of Calera, AL; 12 devoted nieces and 8 devoted nephews from Alabama, Michigan, Washington D.C., Oregon, Washington State and West Virginia; devoted friends Reverend Dr. Cordell (Cynthia) Simpson, Atty. and Mrs. Larry Leibowitz, Mary Sawyer, Beverly McNair, Emmitt Jackson and the Washington, Pierce, Garrett, Roberts, Moran, Bankston, Napier, Byrd, Rorex, Henry and Staples families.
Monday, May 7, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Celebration of a Life Well Lived service to follow at Bethel Baptist Church at 537 N Hall Rd, Alcoa, TN 37701. Reverend Dr. Cordell E. Simpson officiating. Entombment to follow at Highland South Cemetery where a white dove release will conclude the service.
