Maxine Irene Love was born September 26, 1942 to Leba L. Love, Sr. and Edna Billingsley Love in Alcoa, TN. 2019. Maxine graduated Austin High School in 1960 and later entered the U.S. Army where she served as Personnel Sargent. She held this position for twenty plus years. She received meritorious service medals including rifle M-16 expert qualification badges. Upon retiring from the U.S. Army, Maxine settled in Raywick, Kentucky with her beloved friend Sara Frances and her “favorite” dog Boomerang. While her health permitted, she traveled the country doing what she liked which was competing in bowling tournaments.
Maxine had entered a special friendship with Sara Frances (Zicatoose) Love more than forty years ago. They shared a friendship based on unconditional love. Their relationship can be categorized as friends, loveth always, till death do us part. However, death did not part them, they faced it together and that is what love is all about. Both were called to serve the Heavenly Father on April 24, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leba L. Sr. and Edna B. Love, one sister Edna V. Love Thompson, two brothers Leba L. Love Jr., and Hastie E. Love I.
She leaves celebrating her home going one sister: Rosaria Love Mack, Grand Prairie, TX; devoted nieces, Edna Sissy (Boyd)Flack and Penny Claiborne, Newark, NJ; nephews, Marcus (Toni) Yarbrough; Leroy (Nikitia) Thompson, Knoxville, TN; Sorrell (EJ)Love Yarbrough of Arlington, TX; Hastie (Kanashia)Love II of Fort Worth, TX. Also, a host of cousins as well as other family members.
Also included is a special devoted friend, Jo Sorrell of Houston, TX.
Tuesday, August 20, 2019, a graveside service will take place at 11:30 a.m. at East TN Veterans Cemetery, 2200 Gov. John Sevier Highway. Full military honors will conclude the service. Professional arrangements entrusted to Patton Funeral Home, Brian L. Buckmon, LFD and assisted by G. C. Williams Funeral Home, Louisville, KY and Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, KY.
