Mildred Taylor Obituary

In memory of our Beloved Mother
Mildred Alice V. Constant-Taylor

Age 83, born in Cleveland Tennessee to the late Eva Lois Peters-Constant and George Elvert Constant.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Hylane Finley; her husband Willie James Taylor;

sisters, Mary Constant, Goldie Whaley; her brothers, Marshal Smartt, William Constant, Gary Constant, and Charlie Johnson.

Mildred excepted Christ at a very young age and became a member of
A.M.E. Zion Church and later moved her membership to St. James CPCA. She was a graduate of College Hill school and was employed with Magic Chef Inc., she retired from Duracell, and was a Community Beautician.

Mildred, was affectionately known to many as “Sister”.  Her lively, high spirited personality and her love for people, led to her having many friends.

She enjoyed shopping and was a very stylish lady that had a love for her high heel shoes. Her favorite color was blue.  Because of her loving and giving spirit, most of the shopping she did was to bless others with a gift.

She enjoyed time with her children and keeping company with her family and friends. She was adamant in her conversation about being 83 and having the ability to walk so many miles, exercising daily and dancing.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Vanessa (Reginal) Howell, Shannon (Carlos) Jones, Alveraz (Loretta) Constant, Ryan Taylor, Reginal Constant;

12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren;

sister, Lorraine Mastin; brother, Robert Constant; her special aunt, Adella Jones; sister-in-law, Linda Smart;

many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; other relatives; her church family; her friends she shared brunch with on Fridays; friends from Duracell, many devoted and lifelong friends; many other friends too numerous to name;
 She will truly be missed by many.

Family and Friends will meet Friday, July 19 at 1:30 for a Graveside Service at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
