Otis Lee Chandler

Otis Lee Chandler, age 84, passed away at 5:25 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital.  He was born April 29, 1933 in “Boyd’s Creek” Sevierville, Tennessee.

He was a member of Children of God Ministries COGIC. He was a former member of Grace Tabernacle under the leadership of the late Bishop H. Jenkins Bell, presently New Trinity Tabernacle COGIC and Boyd’s Creek Church of God where he served as a Trustee.

Mr. Chandler retired from Lay’s Packing Company with 38 years of service and Time DC Freight Company with 17 years of service.  

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Bernice Mallory Chandler; mother, Janie Chandler; uncle, who was like a father, Robert Chandler; mothers-in-law, Jessie Davis Mallory and Helen Elizabeth Mallory; father-in-law, Wilkes David Mallory, Jr.; four brothers: Ronald, Raymond, John Lewis (Hattie Mae) and Charles Alford (Virginia) Chandler; brother-in-law, Arthur McMillan.

He is survived by his loving devoted son, Wilkes Mallory Chandler; sister, Virginia McMillan; two brothers, Theodore (Brenda) and Harold (Mary) Chandler; brother-in-law, James Mallory of Detroit, MI; sisters-in-law, Helen L. Hamilton and Dora Chandler; a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Monday, February 12, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow at Children of God Ministries at 309 Deaderick Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921.  Superintendent Phillip Hamilton officiating.  Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa, TN,  where a white dove release will conclude the service.  Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the service.  Professional arrangements entrusted to Patton Funeral Home, Brian L.
