Phillip C. Muckle departed this life on July 5, 2018 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Phillip graduated high school in 1968, and later enlisted in the United States Army. He retired from Key Safety Systems with 33 years of service. Phillip was currently employed at Brother's Management for over 13 years. He was an avid golfer and former member of the Green Turf Club and Williams Creek Golf Course.
Preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Rose Muckle and infant nephew, Derrick Muckle.
Survived by devoted wife, Portia Muckle; loving daughter, Philisha Muckle; brother, Henry Muckle (Rochelle Matthews); sisters-in-law, Lonita Smith (Phillip Wynn), Wanda Hartley, Brenda Cutwright and Shirley Sheadrick of Katy, TX; brothers-in-law, Herbert (Carol) Cutwright of Toledo, OH and Robert Cutwright of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Christopher Muckle, Dimitri Smith, James Smith, Michael Sheadrick, Jesse Sheadrick, Eric Cutwright and Kevin Cutwright; nieces. Crystal Cutwright, Kyandra Cutwright, Laterina (Le'Rhonn) Butler of Katy, TX, Cassandra "J.J" Jones and Micaela Morgan; special god children: Sandra Tate, Ashley Day, Jazmine Smith, Michelle Talley, Consuela Russell, Alycea Williams, Iryana Muckle, Kenneth Davis, Jr., Kaleb Davis and Shamar Greene; special uncle, James "Mose" Russell; special friends Tom Cochran, Frank Turner, Taragon Van-de Werken, Brian Weaver, Tommy Given and Mike Goins.
Monday, July 16, 2018, the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with service to follow at Lennon Seney United Methodist Church, 2084 Dandridge Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37915. Reverend Dr. Elston McLain officiating and Pastor Robert Sherrod, Eulogist. Interment will follow at East TN Veterans Cemetery, 2200 Gov. John Sevier Highway, where military honors and white dove release will conclude the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the service.
