Stanley F. Cash, Sr. affectionately known as "Baby Bro", "Redd" but mostly "Coach Cash" entered eternal rest on Friday June 29, 2018. Born January 26, 1949 in Hazzard, KY, he was the fifth child of the late Clarence A. (Viola Hardin) Cash, Sr. He was a member of the class of 1966 West High School. After high school, he joined the Army where he played football and boxed. He also did two tours Vietnam receiving a sharp shooter medal and most of all a Purple Heart for his service to his country. He loved giving back to the community and was a little league football coach for the Baby Roadrunners and the Disciples for nearly 20 years, winning several city championships. He retired after 25+ years from the United States Postal Service.
Preceded in death by his daughter Katenya "Tena" Cash, his parents, brothers Douglas "Wimp" Blair, Clarence, Laymous and Harold Cash, sisters, Odella Jones and Livona "Bounce" Achoe.
He leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife, J. Rochelle Cash; sons, Stanley, Jr. (Tonya) and Sean (Traci) Cash; step-son, Marcus T. Chandler, II; daughter, Patience (David) Jackson, Jr.; step-daughters, Tameka and Charita Chandler; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Herbert G. Cash; sisters, Dr. Gladys T. Smith and Darlene Cash; brothers-in-law, William (Tina) Morrison and Jeff Daniel; sister-in-law, Ann Dingus Cash; a host of other relatives and friends to include niece, Candis (Charlie) Miller of Cleveland, OH; nephew, Robert (Rochelle) Achoe of Accokeek, MD, lifelong friends, John (Lisa) Woods, Jr., Freddie Downs, Walter Lowery and Ernest McDuffy, Sr.
Friday, July 6, 2018, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a celebration of Mr. Cash's homegoing to follow at Overcoming Believers Church, 211 Harriet Tubman Street. Pastor Dexter D. Mims, Sr. of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church officiating and Pastor Charles E. Dickey of Gainesville, GA as the Eulogist. Monday July 9, 2018 at 9:30 am, Mr. Cash will be laid to rest at the TN Veterans Cemetery, 2200 Gov. John Sevier Highway, where military honors and white dove release will conclude the service.
