Adelaide “Wawanna” Smith of Knoxville, TN
transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday October
7th, 2023. Wawanna better known as “Way” had a
beautiful smile and spirit that would light up any room
she entered. She displayed her graceful spirit thru
music and dance as a little girl thru ballet, tap dancing,
and gymnastics. Way was an avid dresser, decorator,
and she loved to cook. Way graduated from West
End Academy class of 1988 in which she graduated
with honors with a 4.0 GPA. Way was a licensed Real
Estate Agent and worked for Knox County Schools
until her health declined.
Preceded in death by : Grandparents; Willie and
Adelaide Stephens; Frank and Rosetta Smith. Brother:
Thyron Anthony Gray.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Son: Eldridge
King, Jr. Mother: Thelma (Craig) Smith Father:Joe
Smith of Knoxville, TN. Special Companion: Eldridge
King, Sr. Brothers: Joe (Michelle) Smith, of Charlotte,
NC., Arnez (Vicky) Gillette, Edward Taylor all of
Knoxville, TN. Sisters: Kim Gray of Knoxville, TN.
God-Son: Donte Smith of Nashville, TN. Devoted
Nieces: Cyncerati and Jasity Smith of Charlotte, NC.
Aunts: Bernice Sims, Los Angeles, CA, Diane Crayton
and Linda Davis of Detroit, MI; Angela (Josh) Dailey,
Grace and Wilma Stephens of Knoxville, TN Uncles:
Eugene (Gilda) Stephens, Farmington Hills, MI,
Wilbert and David Stephens both of Knoxville, TN.
