Aisha Nichole Cates was born on Tuesday, June 6, 1978, to Wanda Gordon Wollo and the late Charles S. “Steve” Cates in Knoxville, TN.

God called her home on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at UT Medical Center.

Aisha was reared and educated in Knoxville, TN. She had many friends that loved her and will miss her, especially her Austin Homes family. She was a genuine person with a big heart. And those who knew her, knew she loved “her” three F’s – family, fashion, and food.

Rest in sweet heavenly peace baby girl.

Preceded in death by her father, Charles S. “Steve” Cates; brother, Christopher Gordon; sister, Chermirra Strong; maternal grandmother, Selma Moss; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Helen Cates; two nieces, Tamisha Mathis and JaNyia Gordon.

Aisha leaves to cherish her memory: two beautiful daughters, Adaijah and Anyah Raiteri; loving and devoted mother, Wanda Wollo; two supportive brothers, Rauf Muhammad and James (Deanna) Gordon III; supportive sister, Cherry (Stephen) McMahan; many nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews that she adored; three loving uncles, Kevin (Naomi) Hardy, Corteland (Anglia) Cates, and James Dean Goins; five loving aunts, Anita Gudger, Erica Cates Sawyer, Yolanda Drew, Deatra Cates and Mary Bradley; sister-friend and prayer warrior, Angelia McClanahan; special friend and father of her daughters, Gavin Raiteri; her bonus daughters, Desiree’ and Jonee’; a host of other family and friends too numerous to name.

Friday, September 3, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Overcoming Believers Church, 211 Harriet Tubman Street, Knoxville TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A funeral service to follow for immediate family and close friends with Pastor Daryl W. Arnold as the eulogist. Interment at New Gray Cemetery, where a white dove release will conclude the service. All expressions of love may be delivered to the church the morning of the walkthrough.
