Allen Flowers, III, 47, was called home to take his eternal rest on Thursday morning, April 7, 2022, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Allen was born May 6, 1974, in Knoxville, TN, the second child, and first born son, of seven children to parents Allen, Jr. and Paulette (Glenn) Flowers. Allen leaves both his mother and father of Knoxville, TN, along with his wife, Karol (Gaddis) Flowers, and mother-in-law, Carolyn Gaddis of Stone Mountain, GA to deeply mourn his passing.
Allen was first and most profoundly, a believer, student, and a lover of the Word of God. He was a tremendously devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend to anyone fortunate enough to know him in that way. He brought laughter, knowledge, compassion, and truth to every room he entered and every life that he touched. He brought tremendous joy to the lives of his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Beatrice Henderson and paternal grandmother, Louise Rains; paternal grandfather, Allen Flowers, Sr.; and maternal grandfather, Will Glenn; maternal uncles, Eugene Glenn, Willie Glenn, and Herman Glenn; and paternal aunt, Virginia Anderson.
He will be loving remembered by sister, Chenea Russell; brothers, Korell (Tanya) Flowers, Tyrone Flowers, Benjamin, Sr. (Shamiyeh) Flowers, Justin, Sr. Flowers, and Aaron, Sr. Flowers, all of Knoxville, TN; adopted sister, LaKennijia Brooks of Lithonia, GA; God-children, Zheyon Johnson of DeMoines, IA, Dezhon Johnson, Dezhiana Johnson, and Zheyvon Brooks of Lithonia, GA; maternal aunts; Shirley Glenn of Knoxville, TN, and Janet (John) Young of San Antonio, TX; paternal aunts; Grace Lattimore of Knoxville, TN; Gloria Lewis of Sandusky, OH, Patricia Allen of Knoxville, TN, Katherine (Brian) Harvey of Knoxville, TN; and special aunt JoAnne Glenn of Knoxville, TN; paternal uncles; Andrew Flowers of Knoxville, TN, and Tyrone (Angie) Woodard of Knoxville, TN; maternal uncles; Michael Glenn of Stockton, CA, Calvin (Telina) Henderson of Washington, DC, Mark (Tammy) Henderson of Tampa, FL, and Brian (Nichole) Henderson of Knoxville, TN; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Saturday, April 16, 2022, family and friends may view from 11:00 a.m. to noon with a Celebration of Life service to follow at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church, 520 College Street, Knoxville, TN 37921. Minister Benjamin Flowers, Sr. is the eulogist. Social distancing and face coverings required. Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the service.
