His final moments were spent at home, surrounded by the family he adored, as he was warmly embraced by the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.
Marvell's early life was marked by a thirst for knowledge and a commitment to excellence. He was a proud graduate of Cleveland High School, where he first demonstrated his leadership qualities and zest for life. Continuing his educational journey, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cumberland University. Throughout his life, Marvell was a lifelong learner, always eager to acquire new skills and understandings.
His professional life was distinguished by a noble career in law enforcement. Marvell served with honor and distinction within the Oak Ridge Police Department and as a dedicated member of the S.W.A.T. Team. His bravery and commitment to protecting others were unwavering, and his contributions to public safety were immeasurable.
Beyond his official duties, Marvell was a brother in the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., where he forged lifelong friendships and worked tirelessly to uplift others. He extended his service to the community by serving as a Board member for the Boys and Girls Club, where he helped shape the lives of young people with his wisdom and generosity.
One of Marvell's most significant contributions was the development of the Mentor-Mentee Program for the Oak Ridge Police Department. His vision created a legacy of guidance and support that will continue to influence generations to come. Marvell believed in the power of mentorship and invested his time and energy into fostering positive relationships and nurturing potential.
An avid sportsman, Marvell found solace and joy in physical activities. He was passionate about running and lifting weights, which not only kept him fit but also served as a metaphor for his approach to life's challenges—facing them head-on with strength and determination. Fishing was another of his beloved pastimes, providing him with moments of tranquility and reflection.
He led by example, showing kindness, humility, and a genuine desire to serve others. His mentorship extended beyond formal programs, as he provided guidance and support to anyone in need, touching countless lives with his unique and personal approach.
Marvell was preceded in death by his mother, Debra A. Moore; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wyse Beck and aunts, Forestine “Dumpy” Bowerman and Milinda “BoBo” Beck.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife of 11 years, Terry; sons Tre’var and Na’Kyran; daughters, Cheyenne, Terrika (Blake), A’Laysha, Adessa, and Na’Jah; Father Allen W. Moore and Mrs. Helen Moore of Cleveland, TN; brothers, Tyrone of Cleveland, TN and Keyonsay of Fayetteville, NC; nieces, Tianna, Jadyn, Taniah, and Ketura; grandmother, Cora Louise Moore of Niota, TN; aunts, Nina of Cleveland, TN, Greta, and Charlotte of Niota, TN; uncles, Roy and Festus Beck of Cleveland, TN along with many other relatives and friends.
