Andrea Lewis Obituary

Andrea (Woodruff) Lewis was born October 29, 1952, in Newark, New Jersey to the late Clausell and Elizabeth Woodruff.

She departed this life on April 7, 2022.

Born and raised in Newark and East Orange, New Jersey, she attended school; one being the Man-Power Program where she received a secretarial certification and began her career at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Hospital (formerly Martland Hospital). In 2008, Andrea retired with more than 25 years of dedicated service. She relocated to Atlanta, Georgia and then to Cleveland, Tennessee where she had settled until her passing.

Andrea, affectionately called Nana by everyone, was a true lover of her pets. She definitely knew they loved her too! She had a dog (Shadow) and three cats, (Midnight), (Tigger) and (Pepper). She believed in GOD and the power of prayer. Andrea was such a loving and generous person. She always cared for and was willing to help others before thinking about herself. She loved taking vacations and spending time with her family. She was a great cook too. Her baked ziti and fried chicken were everyone's favorites. She loved watching the SciFi channel. Her favorite shows were The Walking Dead, Games of Thrones, and The Strain only to name a few. She always enjoyed pampering herself as well.

Andrea was married to Robert Lewis Jr., who preceded her in death along with her parents and brother, Darius Woodruff.

Left to cherish her memory: daughters, Carolyn Tate and Katherine Bennett; son, Haven Bennett Jr.; eight grandchildren, William Aaron Nevius, Jalisa Freeman-Howard, Jasmine Freeman-Jones. Nelson Lawrence Clark Jr, Taisha Cruel, Aaliyah Grizzle and Jahkiyah Grizzle, Jordan Bennett; twelve great grandchildren, Zarek Jones, Malik Jones Jr, Renee Jones, Promise Jones, Maliyah Jones, Maurice Howard Jr. , Khamyah Clark, Nylah Clark, Salvador Clark, Jamil Cruel, Zaire Cruel, Kaden Cruel; two sons-in-law, Carlos Tate and Maurice Grizzle; brothers Dorian Woodruff and Clausell Woodruff; sisters, Patricia Caraway and Melinda Colquit; two sisters-in-law, Saundra Woodruff, Essora Bryant; uncle, Frank Chambers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Andrea was loved.

She will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.
