Obituary

Anthony Glenn Jr., affectionately known as “Peanut,” was born March 23, 2007, in Knoxville, TN. God called our beloved son home on May 5, 2022, in Nashville, TN. Anthony attended Haynes Middle School in Nashville, TN, and Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, TN. Anthony is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Callie Nolen; grandmother, Willie Mae Glenn; uncle, Timothy Glenn. He leaves behind to treasure his memories mother, Jadaeka Mazon; father, Anthony (Tanaya) Glenn Sr; sister, Antasia Glenn; grandparents, Darryl and Janice Mazon, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Anthony had a very close relationship with his sister, Antasia. She gave him the nickname “Peanut” the first time she saw his ultrasound. He always said she was his best friend. His grandparents adored him. Anthony was born in Knoxville but grew up in Nashville, TN. Anthony comes from a large family. Whenever he was in Knoxville visiting, you could always find him running around with one or all of his cousin crew: Bryant, Jovan, Jason Jr, Dameion, Germany, and Keylen.

Anthony was an avid online gamer and was highly competitive. He enjoyed fast cars and could tell you the make, model, and engine size by an engine’s sound from a distance. He wanted to be a mechanic, so he could either design, customize, or restore extremely fast engines for cars, airplanes, or rockets (yes, those rockets at NASA). He liked science and was always trying to figure out how things worked together. He would research everything. He was deeply interested in history and knew his grandfather’s family history back to their point of entry into the colonies. Anthony was quiet and reserved; he was very observant and spoke few words until he knew a person. When he did speak, it would either be something gut-busting funny, or he would be calling you out on your mess with no filter whatsoever. He was extremely intelligent, and if you were lucky enough to have even a brief conversation with him, you would walk away with something to think about. Anthony was a loveable person. He was a ladies’ man and would reel them in with those beautiful, dreamy, light brown eyes. He enjoyed dressing in his designer clothes, and shoes-which had to be a perfect match, or he wouldn’t fool with it. He loved wearing his favorite colors, red, yellow, and orange. He was a very picky eater, but he loved fried chicken and junk food, and he ate hot sauce on everything.

He leaves behind to treasure his memories aunts, Kimberly (Rashad) Thaxton, Beverly Williams; He leaves behind great grandmother, Fannie Wilson; uncles, Jason (Rachel) Mazon, Justin Mazon (Jodi Taylor), Darryl Aldridge; special uncle, Samuel (Monnie) MacArthur Nolan; cousins, Tyree Mazon, Aaron Mazon, Bryant Thaxton, Javon Taylor, Jason Mazon Jr, Xavier Mazon, D’Aaron Mazon, Elijah Mazon, and Emmanuel Mazon, Faith Williams, Denzel Williams; special cousins, Jeron (Tonya) Nolan, Dameion Nolan Jr., Melissa (Jay) Armstrong, Kayla Cherry, Keylen Cherry, Germany Hines, special family friends, Ivy (Marvin) Pate and Billy, Veronica, Cecil Jr; Toni Adams-Scruggs; Marie Wesley and Savion; Charles Jones and Charlcie, Charneita, Maria Holt and Dereyana, Desmond, Thomara and Joanna Hockett; Demetria Ferrell.

The Crew (Anthony’s Nashville friends); Dharius Ferrell, Joseph Wade, Sincere Greer, Jeremiah, and Jasmine Doss; Tamara and Tiawanna Brown and Patrick III, Passion; Mariah Berkeley, Tayiona Wilson, and Shoniqua Gains.
