Anthony Sidney Hudson Obituary

Anthony Sydney Hudson, affectionately known as “Hog” and “Mahogany,” passed away on July 11, 2026. He was born on April 17, 1973, in Fort Benning, Georgia, to Nettie Pruitt Hudson and Jibreel A. Jaleel.


Anthony accepted Christ at a young age and carried his faith with him throughout his life. He was a member of Oak Valley Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where his faith and connection to community remained important parts of his journey.


Anthony received his education at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia, graduating with the Class of 1991. He continued his studies at Pellissippi State Community College and Knoxville Technical School, where he trained as an electrician. He also proudly served in the United States Army.


Anthony had a true gift for working with his hands. He loved being an electrician and enjoyed home improvement and repair projects. Whether helping others, fixing what needed attention, or sharing his skills, he found joy in being useful and making things better. He was also a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan.


Those who knew and loved Anthony will remember him as a giving and kind man with a memorable sense of humor. His laughter, generosity, and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impression on his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.


Anthony leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Nettie Pruitt Hudson; his father, Jibreel A. Jaleel; God- Parents; Sumonia Hines and Authur G.


McGowan; his daughters, Brandy L. Hudson and Chavon Sampler; his son, John Mason Hurst; his grandson, Tennison Gray; his brother, Johnny Hudson Jr.; his cousins who were like siblings, Vincent Pruitt and Cassandra “Cassie” Berry; his aunts, Geraldine Pruitt-Moore, Jennetta Dorsey, Josephine Herron, and Marsha Pruitt; and his first cousins, Melody Herron, Charles Herron, Willie Herron, Carlos Manning, Javaris Doresy, LaVince Pruitt, Warren Pruitt, Latoya Pruitt-Catlin Latrice Pruitt Tabitha Smith, Tiffany Smith, Norman McDonald, Michelle McDonald and Lenny Head. He is also remembered by his childhood friends, Terrance Speight, Brian Miles, Cliff Webb, and “Dutch” Jennings; close friends “Bill” Blair and Dwayne Shanklin; and many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.


Anthony was preceded in death by his infant daughter and grandparents.


His life will be celebrated with love, gratitude, and faith as family and friends honor the memories, lessons, and joy he share.
