Obituary

April Downs Wilson moved into her heavenly home on June 5, 2022. She was greeted by her daughter Jaquera Stinson; grandparents, Edward Downs, Ceola Allison, Dorothy McGee; uncle, Michael Yancey, and aunt, Juliette Yancey.

April attended Austin East High School graduating with the class of 1990.

She was employed for several years with Omni Community Health as the Human Resource Coordinator. She loved her job and co-workers as well, adopting them into the family.

April was loving, caring, witty with an infectious laugh. She was extremely family oriented, very proud of her children and grandchildren. Loving us all unconditionally. She touched the lives of all she met. Her sweet smile and expressive eyes conveyed true love for those around her. She was an exceptional cook, loved dancing and traveling. The beach being one of her favorite places where you would be sure to hear her say more than once "living my best life". She was the family event planner, every holiday, birthday, graduation, wedding and sometimes just because, all had her special touch. She was a devoted loving daughter, sister, mother, mimi, and friend. We thank God for her life and all the joy she brought us.

Memories will be forever cherished by her parents: Clarence E. Yancey, Etta Carero; sons: Jamel (Chaye) Wilson, Jajuan Stinson; daughter: Jocelyn (Ivan) Michel; grandchildren: Brooke Stinson, Jaceion Stinson, Makenzie Michel, Ivan Michel Jr., Royal Long; brothers: Chris Downs, Clarence Yancey Jr.; sisters: Valerie (Ahmad) Vinson, Crystal Yancey, Bianna Yancey; special companion and devoted friend, Eugene Chandler and Nina Ellis.
