Arthel Dewey Parks

Arthel Dewey Parks departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019.

He was born on July 16, 1946, to Chester A. and Otha Mae Parks in Bradley County.  

He was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved cars, fishing and playing cards. Most of all, he enjoyed spending his leisure time with family and friends. As a dedicated employee of Honeywell, he retired after 32 years of commendable service. 

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Curtis Parks; his parents; sisters: Lottie Mae Elder, Irene Parks and Chestina McBee; brother, James B. Parks; father-in-law, Samuel L. Dodd;  mother-in-law, Willie Dodd; sister-in-law, May Maynard; and nieces: Holly and Ocha Parks 
  
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Parks; sons: Dewey Preston Parks, Bruce Anthony Parks and Chris (Charnell) Frazier Parks; daughter, Lisa Ann Parks (Jimmy McClure); five grandchildren: Tiarra Ware, Kirra Parks, Anton Bruce Parks, Autumn Sky Parks and Terrell Hakeem Parks; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Michael, Thomas and James Dodd; sisters-in-law: Linda Sue Smith, Lorene Thompson, Evelyn “Peebles” Taylor and Willie Dodd; goddaughter, Tasha Taylor; devoted friends: Mike Thompson, Bobby Kincaid, Dennis Grisham and Greg Fletcher; and a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends. 
  
On Sunday, he may be viewed from noon to 6 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home Chapel, 265 Fair St. S.E., Cleveland. 

On Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon, with the funeral to follow at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3406 Blair Road, Cleveland. 

Interment will immediately follow at Saint Elmo Cemetery, Georgetown.
