Audrey Ann Glanton Obituary
Audrey A. Lynch Glanton was born on October 20, 1937 in Black Mountain, North Carolina to the union of Frank and Amanda Lynch. On the evening of June 27, 2024, at the age of 86 she transitioned peacefully from this life to life everlasting.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband William T. Glanton Sr., brother Powell Watson Lynch, sisters Birdie May Lynch, Gladys Stover, Bernice Cash, Dorothy Thomas, and Margie Lynch, and niece Janet Stover.
She is survived by sons William T. Glanton Jr. (wife Arlene Glanton) and Paul L. Glanton (wife Deborah Glanton), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, beloved grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Her devotion to family and a firm belief in God supported her during difficult times of her life, and comforted her during her peaceful transition.
Audrey spent many years working as a professional cook with several school districts, a dedicated personal home care giver to people from all walks of life, and the successful operation of Bill’s Restaurant in the Lonsdale community. She will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving person who believed in helping others.
Audrey enjoyed traveling throughout the country with friends and local church groups, but most of all she loved and remained devoted to the community of Lonsdale. She sung with the Adult Choir at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and First Calvary Church in Knoxville, TN.
A special thanks to the UT Medical Center Hospice Service for their tremendous support and care during this most difficult time. Audrey will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
