Belle Barnett Harvest, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on August 17, 2021.
Mrs. Harvest was born February 23, 1932, to Nezer Barnett and Mattie Nelms in Salem, Alabama.
She was an active member of Oak Valley Baptist Church and retired from Y-12 Complex where she worked in custodial services.
Mrs. Harvest will be remembered as a pillar of the Scarboro Community of Oak Ridge.
Preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Johnnie Lee Harvest, Sr.; son, Glenn Harvest of Oak Ridge, TN; granddaughter, Natasha Glenn, Knoxville, TN; parents, Nezer Barnett and Mattie Nelms, both of Salem, AL; sisters, Emma Barnett of Oak Ridge, TN, Lois (Willie) Madden, Joan Turner, both of Valley, AL; brothers, Bill Barnett, Oak Ridge, TN, Joe Nathan Barnett, Alan Barnett, both of Valley, AL, and James Meadows, of Atlanta, GA; son-in-law, Ralph Hill of Lithonia, GA.
Survived by children, Reather Mae Hill of Lithonia, GA, Johnny Lee (Nancy) Harvest of Oak Ridge, TN, Jimmy Lee Harvest of Louisville, KY, Brenda Kay Tolbert of Ontario, CA, Alvin M. Harvest of Louisville, KY, Gregory W. Harvest, Vincent Lee Harvest, both of Oak Ridge, TN, Vanessa (Robert) Glenn of Knoxville, TN and Ellery Harvest of Oak Ridge, TN.
Mrs. Harvest is also survived by grandchildren, Tanisha L. (Rayford) Turner of Oak Ridge, TN, Larissa Harvest, Curtis Harvest, both of Knoxville, TN, Margaret Harvest of Oak Ridge, TN, Jimmy Lee Harvest, Jr., Brian Harvest, both of Charlotte, NC., Broderick Thomas of Ontario, CA, , Robert Glenn, Jr., of Knoxville, TN, Ellery Harvest, Jr., Preston Harvest, both of Rockwood, TN, and Regina Coleman of Claxton, TN; great-grandchildren, Kymani Harvest, Kymaria Harvest, Kymerius Harvest of Rockwood, TN, and Moriyah Glenn , Robert C. Glenn III, both of Knoxville, TN, Calleigh and Carlito Harvest, both of Rockwood, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Saturday, August 28, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Oak Valley Baptist Church, 194 Hampton Road, Oak RIdge, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A Homegoing Celebration will begin at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Derrick Hammonds as the eulogist. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park where a white dove release will conclude the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the walkthrough.
