She was born August 16, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, and currently resided in Clinton, TN. Beverly was the fifth child of the late William and Leola (Roper) Beach. She married her longtime companion and love of her life, Darryel Scott Brooks in 1988, and the couple moved from the Dayton area to Oak Ridge, TN in 2005.
Beverly grew up on the west side of Dayton and attended Highview Elementary School. She graduated from Dayton Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 1973. She was employed in various retail and restaurant establishments during her working life. She attended Wayman A.M.E. Church in Dayton during her youth and would volunteer in her adult life, assisting her sister as an usher and food bank helper at the church during visits back to Ohio.
