Brenda Kaye Mattison Anthony, a beacon of love and truth, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2024, in Oak Ridge, TN, after a life abundantly lived and generously shared. Born on March 27, 1950, in Morristown, TN, Brenda's journey was marked by a steadfast commitment to faith, family, and education.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Brenda was married to Perry Anthony Jr. for 25 years, a union filled with mutual respect and unwavering partnership. She was the loving matriarch to her children Alicia Church, Kenny Mattison, Bridgette Cloud; Shalonda Turner, and Kim Anthony joined together in marriage. Her legacy further blossomed with 14 cherished grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the recipients of her boundless love and wisdom.

Brenda's early life in Morristown was the foundation of her strong character. She was a proud graduate of Morristown High School and later Walter State Community College, where she earned a degree in Education. Her passion for learning and teaching was a testament to her belief in the transformative power of knowledge.

Her dedication to her faith was evident in her over 22 years of service at True Light Missionary Baptist Church and her over 40 years at Bethel Baptist Missionary Baptist Church. Brenda's devotion to God shone brightly as she participated in three different choirs, contributed to the women's ministry, and imparted knowledge and guidance as a Sunday School teacher and director of the choir and youth ministries. Her faith was her compass, and she navigated it with grace and conviction.

Brenda's laughter was infectious; she found joy in every situation and eagerly shared it with those around her. Her unwavering integrity meant she lived her life as a testament to truth, challenging anything and anyone that strayed from the teachings of God's Word. She was a pillar in her community, always placing family, church, and community at the forefront, guided by the principles she held dear.

Her passion for the Word of God was not just a personal journey but a mission to enrich the lives of others. Brenda's desire to see lives transformed by God's living Word was evident in her every action. She touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts and souls.

Brenda's circle of life is complete with the love she leaves behind. She is survived by her devoted husband, Perry Anthony Jr.; her beloved children and their spouses; her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her siblings James Delaney, Thomas Delaney, and Bonnie Daniels.

She is reunited in glory with her step-son Terrance Anthony and brother Ricky Delaney, who preceded her in passing.
