Born and raised in Knoxville, TN. Carla-was a loving person with a heart of gold, who will definitely be missed. As a nurturer, she was a genuine friend to all, who knew her, and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Carla’s sweet and shy personality did not keep her from doing the things she loved. Carla was a beautiful person, inside and out-her light shined so bright, that she was much like a lighthouse. Carla served as a beacon to many around her- Her characteristics were nothing short of being powerful, full of hope, and resilient. Carla navigated life’s challenges with the motto to live life abundantly! She loved to dance, listen to music, travel, explore new dining experiences, and make awesome memories with her children and family. She embodied strength, endurance, and unwavering purpose. Carla’s light has been a blessing to many- helping to guide us all in one way or another. She has many family members, friends from childhood, classmates, colleagues, coworkers, organizations, and church members- All who received her warmth and generosity, witnessed her graceful poise, and will miss her dearly. Carla accepted Christ at an early age, she later became a dedicated member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church of Knoxville, under the leadership of Reverend Victor M. Jones, Jr.

Carla’s love of being a nurturing, hands-on mother, doing for others, the love of music and “movement” is what kept her moving forward. She understood the importance of being active and lively, thus became a regular Zumba participant in 2013, and soon after joined a Line Dance group which she continued, recently attended conference earlier this year. Carla’s smile, enthusiastic demeanor and her passion to embrace anything brought her way (quietly, and with a smile), only speaks a portion of her beautiful soul- Her light will shine forevermore!
