Carolyn S. Young, age 78, journeyed from this life into eternal rest with the Lord on Saturday afternoon surronded by her loving family, on September 14, 2024. She was born on November 22, 1945 in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late Elder A. L. and Minnie Thomas. 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elder A. L . Thomas and Minnie F Thomas; two brothers: Felix and Abraham Thomas, Jr; 4 sisters; Mamie Perkins, Marie Phillips, Betty Shelby, & Doris Simmons. 

Carolyn was a graduate of Colledge Hill High School, where she was a dedicated basketball player. She was a member of Price Memorial AME Zion in Cleveland, TN, where the late Pastor Teresa Olgesby was pastor. She joined AME Zion under the leadership of Pastor Teresa Olgesby, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. 

Carolyn was married to the late Reverend B.C. Young Jr.  and to this union 2 children were born: Ida Y. Young and Carla D. Young. She was employed by Whirlpool  for a number of years. 

Carolyn enjoyed working in her garden, and had a love for her pets, Omega, and Sweetheart. She also enjoyed sports, from basketball, to swimming. She also had a love for sitting on her porch having her daily coffee. She deveolped the landscape of her yard into a place of beauty, which allowed her to win Yard of the Year. She would light up any room, with her infectious laugh that could be heard from a mile away. She had a huge heart and never met a stranger. Carolyn was a woman of sophistication, who kept her hair curled to perfection, and kept her nails polished.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Ida Y. Young and Carla D. Young. As well as her two granddaughters, Kaneeshia L. Young and Keyona S. Young, and 2 great - grandchildern HaLo Bryant and Elijah Lott. Sisters: Annie Dancy of Chattanooga, Rev. Mattie Benton ( Thomas Benton) of Cleveland, Cora Bailey of Cleveland. Brother: Robert Thomas ( Bridget Thomas ) of Cleveland. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special friends to include Merle Johnson, Jackie Martin, Bennette Pitner, Pastor Fitzgearld and Caryon McCastle, and Connie Morrison.
