Chantel Bragg Minnefee Obituary

Chantel was born to Keith Bragg Sr. and Mona Word on July 29, 1984 in Knoxville, TN. She transitioned from this life into eternity on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at UT Medical Center.

She joined in matrimony with Ira Minnefee Jr. "Man Man" and through their union three children were born. Chantel’s family meant everything to her. Her family gave her the motivation and will to fight through each day.

Chantel means “stone” and her character defined the meaning of her name. She was unmovable and grounded in her thoughts and beliefs. She was strong, caring, loving, kind-hearted, outspoken, compassionate, beautiful and very funny.

Preceded in death by her grandmothers, Mary Bragg and Evangelist Fredda Word; grandfather, John Word Sr.; uncle, John Word Jr. "John John"; cousins, Joseph Mobley "Joe Joe", Miles and Lamar Slay, Jermichael Bowman "Pun" and Daniel Singleton.

Left to cherish her memory: husband, Ira Minnefee, Jr.; daughter, Ireanna; sons, Ira III "Bops" and Isaiah; grandson, Sa’Ni; parents, Keith (Penny) Bragg Sr. and Mona Word; brothers, Keith Jr. and Brandon; sisters, Jamia and Keyonna; grandfather, Chester Bragg; uncles, Gary (Renee), Felix, Ronald, Aundre (Loretta) and Juan (Lona); devoted cousins, Jamie Joiner and Tyrone (Angel) Bowman; devoted in-laws, Chiquita Booker and Dion (Lenise) Littlejohn; a host of great aunts, great uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends to include Crystal Jones, Brooke and Chasity Johnson, Angelic Coclough, Ronnica Lowery, and Alaisha Brown.

Monday, October 18, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Children of God Ministries, 309 Deaderick Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A funeral service will follow for immediate family and close friends . Superintendent Phillip Hamilton, Sr. will officiate. Interment at New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Avenue, where a white dove release will conclude the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church the morning of the walkthrough.
