Charles Thomas Caruthers Obituary

Charles Thomas Caruthers was born September 22, 1951 in Nashville, Tennessee. He passed peacefully in his Knoxville home, surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by his father Eli Caruthers Jr..; his mothers Mamie Caruthers and Delois Caruthers; brother and sister-in-law Carl and Millicent Caruthers; and sister-in-law Evelyn Kimble. He is survived by his devoted wife Jacqueline Caruthers (whose beauty he never ceased to admire, for whom his love never faded), daughters Teree Caruthers, Shauna Cartwright (William); Jakeya Caruthers; granddaughters Maimee January, Myla Cartwright, and Meritt Cartwright; siblings Lydia Caruthers, Lawrence Caruthers (Pam), and Keturah Thompson (Olean); as well as devoted in-laws Robert Curtis (Ruth), Teresa Jones, Vanessa Jones Radley (John), Mary Jones Watkins (Jerry), and Sandra Jones; alongside a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Charles had a special love for the Church and the brotherhood, and his most cherished friends were members of the Body of Christ; they are too numerous to name.

Charles was known for his integrity, his exemplary life as a Christian, and for his boundless generosity to everyone he encountered.  He will be missed beyond measure.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 8 at McDonald Dr. Church of Christ, 3800 McDonald Drive, Knoxville, TN 37914.
