Charles Edward Nolan, age 74, was born on April 13, 1949, to Ada Nolan and Fate Morris.
As a child, Charles was always kind, loving, and giving which is the same attribute he carried through as an adult. He was a jokester who loved to laugh and make others laugh also. He always said," If you can make people laugh, they will always remember you". He graduated from Austin High School in 1967 and married his high school sweetheart, Edith Newton. Their union produced three daughters, Michelle, Angela, and Tracie. He later married Beatrice Moulden and adopted her three children, William, Daphne, and Courtney. He later met and married Susan Elder and their union produced Aaron, April, and stepdaughter Krystal Malone. Charles was very talented and once he set his mind to do something, he did it. His work life started with a paper route as a young boy. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office; a clerk for the Department of Energy at the Oak Ridge Plant and a heavy machine operator for Knoxville Opportunity Industrial Center. Charles played semi-pro football for a short time for the Knoxville Bears. Charles could sew, crochet, and upholster.
Charles final position came from his love for cooking. He retired as a chef from the University of Tennessee. When he retired, his passion for gardening became one of his greatest joys in life. His other greatest joy in life was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Everything Charles did, he did it with dedication and love. He will be remembered for his comedic style and his love for his family and friends. He touched many and will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by mother, Ada Nolan; father, Fate Morris (Birth Father Oscar Lee) brothers, James, Arthur, and Alvin Nolan; Anthony Myles and Victor Lee; sisters Ida Jackson, Ermia Shephard, Bertha Lee Campbell, LaNae Myles, Tracey Lee and grandson, Eric Harper.
He leaves to cherish his memory of children Michelle Brice, Angela, and Tracie Nolan; April (Jeffrey) Mynatt; Aaron, William and Daphne Nolan, Krystal Malone and Courtney (Yvonne) Hill; grandchildren Sidney Hinton Jr., Toriano Littles, Van( Kylia) Harper Jr, Enriquez(Sheree) Harper; grandchildren Jalisia, Alegna and Gabrielle Nolan, Kevanna Malone, Ajiyah Ross, Jeffery Mynatt Jr, Acelinn Nolan, Sasilya, Lillian Sidney Hinton III, Jazzlyn, Jabree; great-grandchildren Za'Riyah Nolan, Vizion Harper, Prince Hinton; sisters Marcia Humphrey, Barbara Lee Lilly; brothers Jacques Lee, Oscar Myles and Larry Myles and a host of other family and friends including Edith Nolan, Susan Elder, Angel Hereford, John Newton, James Mobley, The Shingles, Venable, Duncan and Henley families and a host of nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to name.
