Charles Henry Wright of Knoxville, Tennessee departed this life on Friday, January 3, 2025.

He was born August 27, 1946 in Knoxville Tennessee. He was a graduate of Austin High School Class of 1964.

He was a licensed Carpenter.

He was a long time dedicated member of Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church and served at one time as the preacher Steward. He was a member of the Men’s Chorus, and a life member of the Missionary Department. Charles served on the board of Community Action Committee and was a board member of KCDC. He was a member of the Optimist Club. And the Y’s Men for many years.

He was a former President of the Mechanicville Community Association.

Charles is preceded in death by mother and father Samuel L. and Ruth Driskell Wright; sister, Gwendolyn Wright Scott; brother, Leonard S. Wright, Sr.; niece, Vickie Lynn Wright; nephews, Leonard Wright Jr. and Steven Neal.

Survived by sister, Corrie (Charles) Neal; nieces, Lynn D. Wright; Sonya Neal (Brooks Gladden); great nieces, Nevaeh Davis, Nivea Neal; great nephew, NeTyvion Neal; devoted friend, Ernest McDuffey and many others to numerous to name.
