Charlotte Ann Jackson, born on August 22, 1933, was a beacon of love and joy in the lives of all who knew her. On August 30, 2024, at the age of 91, she departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and a family that adored her. Charlotte was born to the late Augustus Yarbrough Sr. and Mildred Yarbrough. She was a cherished sister to Augustus Yarbrough Jr., Martin Yarbrough, Jimmy Yarbrough, Barabara Yarbrough Imes, Johnny Yarbrough, Jackie Johnson, Juliette Hamilton, Julius Johnson, and Judy Chesson.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Jackson; daughter, Marilyn Blake Dawkins; sons, Hubert and Herbert Yarbrough; brothers, Augustus Jr., Jimmy, Johnny, Jackie Yarbrough, and Julius Johnson; sisters, Barabara Imes, Juliette Hampton, Judy Chesson and grandchildren, Richard Mills and ARhonda Blake.

Charlotte's life was enriched by her surviving children Gregory (Wilhelmenia) Yarbrough, Raymond Yarbrough, Richard (Sherri) Yarbrough, and Melissa (Herman) Harrell ; brother, Martin Yarbrough. She was a proud grandmother to 20 grandchildren, a great-grandmother to 44 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandmother to 14 great-great-grandchildren. Her extended family included a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

Charlotte attended Austin High School, True Vine Baptist Church as a member of the choir, culinary committee, New Friendship Baptist Church, Frank Bailey Senior Community choir in Riverdale Ga. Charlotte worked at Kresses Dept. Store, Knoxville Job Corps.

Charlotte dedicated herself to nurturing young minds as an educator at Sam E. Hill School, shaping countless futures with her wisdom and care.

She delighted in preparing great meals for her family and friends and her recipes will be treasured and passed down for generations. She was well-known for her buttermilk biscuits from TN to GA.

Charlotte was the embodiment of love, wisdom, and generosity. Her life was a lesson in the art of giving, and her legacy will continue inspire those who were fortunate enough to feel the warmth of her presence. Her spirit, as loving and wise as ever, will continue to guide us through the melodies, the dances, and the meals we share in her honor.

She was a hands-on grandmother. Spending time with her grandchildren meant the world to her. Spending time with her grandchildren meant the world to her. Her name was GRANNY to them Her favorite group was Maze featuring Franky Beverly. Song- “Before I Let You Go”.

Peggy Davis, Minnie Clemons, Edna Easterly, Gaynell Freeman, Mary Smith, Patricia Riley, Cecil Murphy her close friends who were practically inseparable throughout their lives raising children together as well as comforting each other during difficult times.

As we bid farewell to Charlotte Ann Jackson, we are reminded of the indelible mark she has left on our hearts and the community that was her home.
