Christi Moore Kirk Obituary
Christi Darleen Moore Kirk, born September 14, 1970, in Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to her family and community. She is survived by her beloved children, Taylor Katie Kirk and Christian Learnce Kirk, who were the center of her world and the driving force behind her life's work.
Christi, the oldest of two girls born to Dorothy Moore and Will Tom Moore, was a devoted mother who cherished every moment with her children. Her passion for nurturing young minds led her to volunteer at Beaumont Elementary School, where her own children attended, setting the stage for her remarkable 20-year career with Project GRAD.
A graduate of Halls High School in 1988, Christi went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and her master's degree from Lincoln Memorial University. Her educational background, combined with her innate servant heart and love for Jesus, made her an exceptional advocate for children's education and well-being.
As part of the original Project GRAD team, Christi's hard work and determination laid the foundation for two generations of adolescent scholars. Her warm-heartedness and dedication positively influenced countless individuals, making her a beacon of light in the community. She was not only a mother to her own children but also a bonus mom to many, truly embodying the spirit of a champion for ALL children.
Christi's commitment to service extended beyond her professional life. She actively supported various boards and community projects, leaving an indelible mark on her community. Her happy place was enjoying live music, being outdoors, and basking in the sunshine with her family and friends.
She is reunited in heaven with her husband Steven Kirk, mother Dorothy Moore, sister Pamela Moore, and grandparents. Christi is survived by her father Will Tom (Maosa) Moore, bonus siblings Troy E. Grimes, Nikkii Cromer, Allen (Lorraine) Cromer Jr, and Karen Manzie. She also leaves behind her in-laws Mary and Ambros Kirk, and their children Ambros (Amanda) Kirk III, Orlando Kirk, Stanford Kirk, Ivana (Earl) Thigpen, and Marian Kirk, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
The family extends special thanks to Knox Education Foundation, the Project GRADfamily, Knox County Schools, and the many friends who supported Christi throughout her life.
Christi's legacy of love, service, and dedication to education will continue to inspire and impact generations to come.
