Clarence Eward Harris, Jr. Obituary

With heartfelt reverence, we honor the life and memory of Mr. Clarence “Eddie” Harris, Jr., who entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 3, 2023.

Born on June 1, 1957, Eddie was a beacon of strength and joy in the lives of all who knew him. He was welcomed into the arms of his late parents, Ed and Della Harris, and joined in peace by his siblings, Vincent Hodge and Sherine Lytle.

A proud graduate of Austin-East High School, Eddie served his nation with honor as a veteran of the U.S. Army. He continued his journey of service at WJBE Radio, where his voice and charisma touched many until his health declined.

Eddie’s life was a testament to his strength, character, and love for the community, evidenced by the support and gratitude extended by the Brabson, Armstrong, Olivier, Robinson, Chandler, and Walker families, who stood by him through thick and thin.

Eddie’s legacy continues through his beloved son, Clarence “Tre” Harris III, and his cherished daughter, Kiara Satterfield, whose love and memories will forever be a testament to their father’s enduring spirit. His grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride, will carry forward his kind-heartedness and resilience.

Eddie leaves behind his brother Gerald and sister-in-law Kathy Hodge, his sister Wilma and brother-in-law Ken Gordon, and his sister Geraldetta Dozier, whose surnames continue to weave the strong familial tapestry Eddie held dear. His nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Tasha, Corey, and Jamie, will fondly remember their uncle’s unwavering support and encouragement. Eddie also leaves behind so many friends and family who witnessed the greatness that he embodied.

Eddie’s departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his spirit, stories, and laughter will forever resonate within us. Rest in peace, Clarence “Eddie” Harris Jr; your memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
