Clarence Smith Obituary


Clarence Eugene Smith Sr. born May 2, 1974. He departed this life April 16, 2021.  He was affectionately known to his family and friends as “Rabbit.”  Rabbit was a caring and loving son, brother, father, and grandfather.  He was loyal, committed, and supportive of his family and friends.  He was a graduate of Carter High school, Class of 1993.

Preceded in death by grandmother, Christine Buley.

He leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Clamesha and Caleah Smith; son, Clarence Smith Jr.; granddaughter, Camoura Smith-Marcus; grandson, Niko Dashawn Boatwright; loving and devoted mother, Kathleen Carter; sister, LaChanta Carter (Nicole); mother of children, Johneshia Edwards; uncles and aunts, John Sr. and Betty Smith, Gwendolyn Smith, Janice and Jeffery Littlejohn, Darrell Brabson, Mark Brabson and Craig Brabson; cousins, Linwood (JoAnn), Roy, Von, Douglas, John Jr., Tasha, Jenifer, Jalisa, Jawanza (Reuben) and Marcellos; devoted friends, Trey Colquitt, David Hardin, Gary Chandler Jr., Kareem Smith, Mark Brown, Brian McCray, Kim Jackson, Eagle, Debbie Edwards, Robin Flowers, Morris Flowers, Ora J. Chandler and a host of other relatives and friends too many to mention.

Monday, April 26, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2137 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN.  Followed by a private service with Reverend Dr. Charles F. Lomax, Jr.  officiating.  Interment to follow at New Gray Cemetery where a white dove release will conclude the service.   During this time, we will remain in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order No. 17 (COVID-19).
