Darling A Cofer

Darling Alline Barnhill Cofer, known affectionately as Alline Cofer, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on July 19, 1933, in Corinth, Mississippi, Alline's vibrant spirit and unwavering faith left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her. She was a beacon of light and love throughout her 90 years. 

Alline was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leandor and Cordelia Barnhill; her cherished husband, David Cofer Sr.; her loving daughter, Norma Jean Barnhill; her devoted son, Michael Cofer; her caring daughter-in-law Reba Cofer; loving son-in-law John McAllister; grandson Bay Bay Manuel; and great- great grandson; Demon Marquis Higgins, Jr.

Her memory will forever treasured by her surviving family members, including Jimmy (aka Bernice) Barnhilll; David (Gloria) Cofer, Sharon (John) Cofer-McAllister, James (aka Boone) Cofer, Cordelia (aka DeeDee) Cofer, and Joseph (Tamera) Cofer, Anthony (Antionette) Barnhill.

Great Grandchildren: Jody Manuel, Jermani Manuel, Cha’syti Manuel, Justice Manuel, Amylian McNeal, Khaza Manuel, Gayza Davenport, Ashynti, Christopher, Sanna, Janelle, Curtis Minnifield, Carter Minnifield, Isis McCallie, Keilana McCallie, Jeremiah Cofer, Emani (Chase) Hamilton, Jamyia King, Kaela King, Keilah Kaela, Wylea King, Melody Williams, Kailei McAllister, Madison, Kacie, Ava, Tyger, Mario Wiley, Gilbert Harris, Anthony Barnhill, Anastasia Barnhill, Fredrick Barnhill Jr., Aniya Cassey, Tati’ionna Barnhill, David Small. Great-Great Grandchildren: Scarlett Hamilton; brother-in- law, Forrest Cofer; and close friends, Jimmy Battle and Loretta Allen.

Alline dedicated 23 years of her life as a Newborn Technician at UT Medical Center, where she nurtured countless lives from the beginning. Those who knew her best described her as loving, generous, spirited, and funny; Alline's presence was a source of strength and inspiration. Her unwavering faith guided her through life's challenges and was a testament to her character. She approached life with an unbreakable spirit, and her humor brought comfort and joy to many. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons remembered, and her legacy will continue to inspire. As we bid farewell to Alline, we take solace in knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
