David Eugene " Lil Fluttie" Boatwright Obituary

David Eugene Boatwright, affectionately known as "Lil Fluttie," passed away on December 13, 2024, at the age of 38. Born on June 13, 1986, in Knoxville, TN, he was a cherished son, loving husband, devoted father, and a friend to many. David's presence was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him, and his memory will be treasured forever.

David graduated from Central High School and went on to build a career as a construction worker with PRI of Tennessee. His dedication to his craft was evident in the structures he helped create and the strong relationships he built with his coworkers. David was a proud member of St.Joseph House of Prayer, where his faith-filled nature found a home among a community of believers.

His love for his family was unparalleled, and he was often described as a gentle giant—his stature only matched by the size of his heart. L. and Coltel Spears, as well as his aunts Lillian Boatwright, Deborah Thompkins, Latoya Robinson, and his cousins Adairus Boatwright, Marisa Boatwright, and Patsy Swagerty. His memory will also be cherished by his nephews Akeem McDowell, Johnkelian Mathis, and Justin Goins, and his brother-in-law William “Nut” Dixson, who all preceded him in death.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Victoria Boatwright, and their children, Anaijah, Santianna, and David, Jr. David's legacy will live on through them and the values he instilled in their lives. He is also survived by his devoted parents, David and Carolyn Goins, and his siblings Kivia, Kimeka (Marcus), Willie Ray, Xavier (Janine), Casey, Yvonne, Latethia, Davina, Latasha, Arica, Dion, Maurice, Angel, David, Prince, and Manny, all of whom will miss his guiding presence.
