Deanna Althea Burris Brabson departed this life on Friday, September 3, 2021. She was born to the late Theodore Roosevelt Burris and Nora Moore Burris on July 14, 1939, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Deanna married Walter Brabson and to this union five children were born. She devoted her life to caring for her family. She loved worshipping with her kids and grandkids at Eternal Life Harvest. Anyone who knew Deanna knew she loved cooking, especially chicken. She loved to look good too. Deanna looked forward to her hair appointments at Carmen’s Hair Salon and getting here nails done.
Deanna Althea Burris Brabson will be fondly remembered long after her passing.
Preceded in death by her infant twins; grandchild, JaCharrus; great grandchild, Jaylin; brothers, Carl, Arthur, and Theodore Burris.
Left to cherish her memory: daughters, Dianetta Aleen, Juanita, Eloise and Evelyn Brabson; son, Roosevelt (Sara) Brabson; devoted grandson, Adrian; grandchildren, Demarcus, Gerrail, Dwight, Tiara, Ernest, Tahenrika, Tyanka, Donneshia and Deandra; 21 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; loving sister, Rosa Williams of Cleveland, OH; brothers, Marvin, Melvin of Cleveland, OH, William (Joyce) and Wilbur (Shea) Burris; niece, Conjetta Williams; nephew, Gary Reid; a host of other family and friends.
Friday, September 17, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, 3800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A graveside service to follow at New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Avenue, where a white a dove release will conclude the service.
