Demetrius Bomar Obituary

Demetrius (Meaty) Cortez Bomar was born on May 24, 1982. He departed this life on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

Demetrius was our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend. He loved life; he loved to laugh, and he loved to make you laugh. He always had a joke and didn’t care which cousin he “cracked” a joke on. Whenever you saw him, he always looked and smelled good. Demetrius was a hard worker and at the time of his death, he worked for Read Window Products. As a child he joined St. Matthew Reformed Glorious Church of God, where he was a member of the junior deacon board led by Deacon James Mobley, and was a member of the choir. His two favorite songs were, “He’ll Welcome Me” and “I Just Want to Thank You,” always sung as a duo with his cousin Mondie. Demetrius was a graduate of Central High School where he was a member of the football team. Those who knew Demetrius, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. He was deeply committed to his family, especially his children who will miss him tremendously.
Demetrius was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jesse Foster, and Douglas Blair; grandmothers, Mabel Bomar and Mary C. Blair; brother, Kelvin Mims; special cousin Ramonda Robinson, Sr.

Demetrius will be missed daily by his mother, Mary (Victor) Blair; father, Randy (Joann) Bomar, Spartanburg, SC; grandmother, Mary Foster; son, Demetrius, Jr.; daughters LaMya and Deija Bomar; sisters, Athena (Brian) Dickey, Knoxville, TN, Mia Cohen, Riketha Cohen, and Felicia Davis, all of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Rodriquez (Melanie) Smith, Spartanburg, SC; Uncles, Bishop Spencer (Charlene) Foster, Greg (Lynn) Littlejohn, Knoxville, TN, Jackie (Elizabeth) Bomar, Spartanburg, SC; aunts, Sherry Foster, Cynthia O’Neal, Marnita (Harold) Lawrence, Knoxville, TN, Cynthia Bomar Johnson, Spartanburg, SC; special friend and brother, Antwan (BC) McCoy; nieces, Kevena Bomar, Abriya, Braylynn, and Cae’Dynce Dickey; godson, Mykel Webb; a host of cousins, many family members, and friends.
