Doris Jean Taylor, 89, departed this life on November 15, 2022.
Doris is preceded in death by her mother: Mattie Davis; sister: Gloria Davis; brothers: Calvin Dooley, Charles Davis and Theotis Davis; sons: James Davis, Otis Taylor, Edward Dickey, Andre Dickey and Bradley Taylor, Sr.

She leaves behind her children Ann (Robert) Gates, Elaine Taylor, Mavis Dickey, Wanda (Bruce) Winters, Sheretta Dickey, Aaron Dickey, Kimberly Taylor, and her many grandchildren (18), great grandchildren (36), great-great grandchildren (9), and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Doris was the biological mother of 12, but an honorary “Mama” to many. She possessed an outgoing personality and was full of life. Doris loved her family and the love was reciprocated. She was often known for telling funny stories or calling someone “fat”. Many of her loved ones referred to her as “Queen” and “Diva” because of her regal demeanor and eye-catching fashion. Doris enjoyed reading, listening to music, and collecting jewelry. Doris was a faithful church member and loved her Pastor, First Lady, and Elder.
