Dorothy Holloway Obituary

A loving and kind mother, Dorothy Holloway, passed away peacefully on August 28th, 2022, at Prosperity Point Assisted Living at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie Mae and James Guinn, and her former husband, Condredge Holloway Sr.

Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate, and funny. She modeled strength, tenacity, and determination in every action. She lived life to the fullest, never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance. Dorothy loved to travel, constantly on the go. She loved all sports (her sons, of course) but was also an avid Seattle Marines fan.

Dorothy earned her B.S. and Master’s degree from Alabama A&M University. She enjoyed a long successful career as a federal agent for the U.S. government with the department of HUD. She started her successes working at Marshall Space Flight Center NASA in Huntsville, Alabama, with Dr. Wernher Von Braun, who was one of the most important rocket developers and
champions of space exploration in the 20thCentury
Dorothy began her career in Huntsville,AL leading her to Knoxville,TN, Charlotte,NC, and Seattle, WA. She retired there
after serving 30 years with the Federal Government.
We will miss her forever and will keep her memory in our hearts.

She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted son, Condredge (Courtney) Holloway, and Loving Daughter, Valerie (Alfred N) DeVore. Grandchildren; Jasmine Holloway of Canada, Bradley Holloway DeVore, Lindsay Holloway DeVore, and Condredge Holloway III, all of Knoxville, TN. Devoted, loving, and caring friends; Lenora Andrews, and Darrell and Shari DeVore.

Thursday, September 08, 2022, a graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN. Rev. A.D. Baxter, officiating.
