Dorothy Thompson

Dorothy Ann Jackson Thompson, age 73, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021.  She peacefully went home to be with the Lord. 

Dorothy was born July 1, 1947 in Knoxville, TN to the late John Lockhart Jr. and Jamie Louise Jackson. Dorothy professed her life to Christ at an early age. In 1964, she married L. T. Thompson Jr. and five children were born to this union.

 She loved spending time with family and friends, laughing, and always wore a smile on her face. She enjoyed eating ice cream, listening to gospel music, and watching her favorite television show, Highway to Heaven. She was a loving and caring person, a devoted mother, and would always think of others first. 

Preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Samantha Thompson.

Left to cherish her loving memory: husband L.T. Jr.; children, Carmel (Ronnie), L. T. III, Robbin (Steve), Shawn, and Wayne (Pam); 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Saturday, May 1, 2021, A Celebration of Life service begins at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2137 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue.  Pastor Dexter Jordan is the eulogist.
