Douglas “Duck" Ivy was born December 2, 1949, in Oak Ridge, TN to the union if the late Charlie S. and Ruby Mae Young Ivy. He was granted eternal rest on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at The Waters of Clinton, Clinton, TN.
He attended Scarboro Elementary, Robertsville Jr, High and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1967. After high school, he was drafted into the United States Army. “Duck” was employed by TVA and Hardees for many years.
Having confessed Christ as his personal savior, he was baptized into the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of the late Rev. C.C. Fuller. As a member of Mt. Zion, he served as a member of the Mass Choir, Monday Evening Study Session and the Men’s Usher Board. Douglas enjoyed cooking, traveling and spoiling his nieces and nephews.
Along with parents, Douglas is preceded in death by his brothers, C. S., Larry and Robert; sisters, Ruby Lee Capers and Marie Ivy and nephew, Charles Ivy.

Friday, June 19, 2020, a private interment will take place at East TN Veterans Cemetery where military honors will conclude the service.
Friday, June 19, 2020, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to follow at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 195 Wilberforce Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
