John Alvin Wilson, a deeply cherished pillar of the Knoxville community, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born and raised in the heart of Knoxville, John's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and his commitment to serving others.

A proud graduate of Austin High School, John went on to answer his true calling as an ordained minister. His devotion to his faith was evident to all who knew him, and he often shared the wisdom that, "I still got work to do, God is not through with me." John lived by these words, dedicating his life to spreading love and kindness through his ministry.

Before his retirement, John spent many fulfilling years at ENCO Materials, where his diligent work ethic and warm camaraderie left a lasting impression on his colleagues. His involvement in various associations further showcased his passion for community engagement and his desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Wilson, his daughter, Henrietta Davis Jones, his granddaughter, Shaniece, and his great-grandchildren, Trey and Ja'sy, as well as his parents, John Wilson and Louise Parks. The memories they shared will forever be held close to the hearts of those who loved them.

John's memory is honored by his loving family, including his children, Sharon Jackson, John H. Wilson, and Katrina Wilson; his cherished five grandchildren; and six adoring great-grandchildren. His sister, Carrie Parks, along with a host of other relatives and friends, will carry forward the legacy of his compassionate spirit.
